Torrot awarded the “Premi Llotja” prize

The Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona has officially recognised the internationalisation process undertaken by the company. The CEO and founder of Torrot - GasGas, Iván Contreras, received the award in an official act in Barcelona. Present at the award ceremony was the Vice-President of the Catalan Government, the Generalitat de Catalunya, Oriol Junqueras.

The Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona has officially recognised the important internationalisation process underway at Torrot - GasGas by presenting them with the Premi Llotja.

With regard to the company’s internationalisation process, the numbers speak for themselves. Of the 16.3 million euro turnover in 2016, 12.7 were from sales in over 50 countries from all over the world.

The President and CEO of Torrot - GasGas, Iván Contreras, wanted to underline “the enormous effort made by the company in the last year, and the ambitious plans for the coming years”. Contreras also reminded us that “a year ago, Torrot acquired GasGas, and from a factory that had stopped producing motorcycles the year before, in 2016 we manufactured 5,000 units, and with regard to 2017 we are going to manufacture 16,000 with a forecast turnover of 40 million euros”. Additionally, we have contracted new employees into our workforce, and our intention is to continue with our plans to fill our cities with electric bicycles and motorbikes making people’s lives easier and better”

Upon finishing, Iván Contreras also wanted to “thank the work of each and every one of the employees at the company who work day after day so that everything goes ahead”
